The sun is an arrogant thing,
always leaving the world behind
when it tires of us.
The moon is a loyal companion.
It never leaves.
It’s always there,
watching,
steadfast,
knowing us in our light and dark moments,
changing forever
just as we do.
Every day
it’s a different version of itself.
Sometimes weak and wan,
sometimes strong
and full of light.
The moon understands what it means to
be human.
Uncertain.
Alone.
Cratered
by imperfections.
from “Shatter Me” by Tahereh Mafi (words are hers, layout is mine)
We both carry the evidence of our painful encounters in our very beings…but feelings aren’t the end of the story, they are the opportunity to see the Lord’s intervention…
Following are various scriptures that convey how it is really God himself that always sees us, understands us, heals us, loves us, forgives us, & sets us free (all in Christ Jesus)!
May you too experience the matchless Love of Jesus answering the deep longing of your soul. May God Bless, Heal, Guide, Protect, Deliver, & Fill YOU with his Love & Presence!
Beautiful contrasts of the attitudes of the sun and the moon, using them as symbols of human traits. The sun’s arrogance, represented by its constant departure, is juxtaposed with the moon’s loyalty, as it never leaves and watches over us in all our moments. The moon’s ability to change and be different each day mirrors the human experience of uncertainty and imperfection. It’s a profound reflection on the complexities of being human, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles and transformations.

So well said. I take no credit for the words nor their insights & wisdom. I merely presented the author’s description in a poetic format for I couldn’t forget how their words had moved me so deeply. I am so glad that this spoke to you too–Blessings! 🙂

Just a poem . . .
Time to Go
As I grow older my time nears to go
I may keep quiet or let you all know
If you find out, then I’ll ask you to pray
But not for more time so that I can stay
But that my going be free from great pain
And that I hold fast to Him who was slain
I’d ask that my exit be time for thought
That you’ll come my way because we’ve been bought
We’re not of this world, and I’m going home
To walk in God’s garden, never to roam
To walk at His side in full joy and peace
To see the wonders that will never cease
We’ll see, after all, our trip is the start
Of being complete, not living in part
Of being whole – what God wants us to be
As we are with Him for eternity
And so as I go, I’ll keep looking up
And being grateful that Christ drank His cup
To pay the price for the victory won
“Praise God forever! May His will be done!”
